Open Registration begins January 20, 2026.
To inquire about availability, please call the ELC office at 205-822-1312 to see if we have an opening for your child’s requested age group. If space is available, you will be given instructions on the next steps to complete registration. The registration fee is $200 and is non-refundable. If an opening is not available, you may choose to be placed on our waitlist. The waitlist fee is $200 and is non-refundable. Please note that the waitlist fee does not apply toward the registration fee if a spot becomes available.
ABOUT US: The Saint Mark UMC Early Learning Center is a DHR certified school that provides a safe space for children to learn and grow. We value academic and spiritual formation that is grounded in God’s Word.
OUR GOAL: We aim to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of children through a balance of structure and discovery. Children need opportunities to explore their environment and to be guided by teachers who understand child development.
OUR APPROACH: Saint Mark ELC incorporates a balance of planned activities designed to help children progress toward meeting developmentally appropriate goals, as well as improvised activities that emerge from the children’s interests or from unexpected experiences. Throughout the day, our teachers observe and document the children’s learning to create plans that will continue to meet each individual child’s needs and encourage them to explore and meet new goals. Our goal is to give children a foundation that will foster a love of God and learning. We want children to be fully engaged in their world by asking questions and sharing thoughts and ideas in a safe nurturing environment.
OUR PARTNERSHIP: There is a strong connection between the ELC and the Saint Mark UMC Kids Ministry, which offers spiritual formation for newborns through 3rd grade.
